Tournaments & Travel
All team levels (recreational and high performance), and all ages (U6+) are encouraged to participate in tournaments. They are a fun for the kids and they give them an opportunity to feel proud representing Port Moody and their Club! Plus, many tournaments hand out awards and other giveaways such as t-shirts that the kids enjoy receiving.
Each team can apply once per year for funding up to $250 to cover registration fees for their team to participate in a tournament September through June.Acceptance is based on a first-come-first-serve basis until the grant budget allocated to tournaments has been consumed. If your team is intending to participate in a tournament later in the season, advise the Club’s Treasurer as early as possible. Tournament costs should be shared amongst the team otherwise.
There are a number of annual tournament events as well as one-off events that come up every year. We will do our best to list them on this webpage (let us know if we are missing one that should be added). BC Soccer also has a listing of soccer tournaments on their website.
If you are intending to participate in a tournament outside of BC, special permission will be required from BC Soccer to ensure players are covered under our insurance policy. Please visit the BC Soccer website to download a copy of the application.
