Spring Soccer for Kick Start (U4-U7) Players
The U4/U5 (born 2015/2014) program is a ‘rec-style’ mini-academy program designed to grow comfort and confidence with the ball and introduce basic soccer-play skills. The 1-hour weekly session is run by our Club’s professional staff coaches on the mini soccer pitch at Trasolini Turf Field (behind the Port Moody Rec Centre’s gym). This program is co-ed. For Spring 2019 there are three (3) sessions to choose from, and the cost is $115 per player. Note: There are no sessions on Sunday, April 21 & May 19, nor Monday, April 22 & May 20.
- Sundays, April 7-June 16 - 11:00am-12:00pm
- Sundays, April 7-June 16 – 12:00pm-1:00pm
- Mondays, April 1-June 10 – 5:00-6:00pm
The U5/U6 (born 2014-2013) and U7 (born 2012) programs are each ‘team-based’ programs. Players will attend a weekly practice and game led by volunteer/parent coaches. The focus is on fun, skill development, and building a love of soccer, but with an added level of competition. Games are all local versing other co-ed Port Moody teams. Cost is $115 per player.
- Team practice U5/U6: Mondays, April 1-June 10 – 5:00-6:00pm @ North ShoreTurf Field
- Team practice U7: Mondays, April 1-June 10 – 6:00-7:00pm @ North Shore Turf Field
- Boys team games: Saturday mornings @ North Shore Turf Field
- Girls team games: Sunday mornings @ North Shore Turf Field

Spring Soccer for U8-U18 Players
The Port Moody Soccer Club is pleased to be participating in the Cascadia League once again for our Spring Soccer program. Cascadia is a professionally run (and sanctioned) league providing play at all age groups and abilities for boys & girls U8 (born 2010) through U18 (born 2001).
Here is a link to the Cascadia League Handbook (rules & regulations) for more information.
Spring Soccer 2019 – Report Game Scores HERE
Each age group offers team play in three or four different tiers: Metro (U12-U18 ages only), Tier 1 (higher competition), Tier 2, and Tier 3 (recreational/house level). Players will be asked to indicate their preferred level of play when they register. Players wishing to play Tier 1, Tier 2 and Metro levels will need to be assessed by our PMSC Technical staff prior to being confirmed to the team.
A registration code is needed for all players wishing to play at the highest competition level for their age (Tier 1 for U8-U11 and Metro for U12-U18). This code will be provided to players selected to these teams. Additionally a registration code will be needed for teams wishing to participate in team-based technical training and players invited to attend the Monday night high performance Academy.
The following is included in the registration fees for Spring 2019:
- (1) coach-led practice per week
- (1) game per week
- Spring Season jersey
- Monday night Academy (for Metro and U11 Tier 1 teams only)
- Lotsa fun!
- U12 teams will be playing U13 soccer rules, U10 teams will be playing U11 soccer rules, and U8 teams will be playing U9 soccer rules.
- Tier 3 U12-U18 teams will be playing 8v8 soccer on a half-sized field.
- Players will be required to provide their own black Umbro soccer socks, and either red (U11-U18) or black (U8-U10) shorts –
these items can be purchased from the Port Moody Soccer Club if required.
Costs for Spring Soccer:
|Tier 3||Tier 2||Tier 1||Metro|

Game & Practice Schedules:
See team training schedules HERE.
All home game schedules are posted HERE, and full game schedules can be found on the Cascadia Spring League website by clicking HERE. Note: Game schedules will not be available until the first week of April.
Where do teams play?
Teams will play all home games in Port Moody. Away games will be played throughout the Lower Mainland (and sometimes older teams will visit Whistler and/or the Sunshine Coast). For younger teams and teams playing Tier 3, Cascadia does their best to group teams together based on their regional area – but their ability to do this depends on the number of teams registered at each age level in each tier.
Can I play for Port Moody’s Spring League if I did not play for Port Moody in the fall/winter season?
Yes, of course you can! Spring registration, similarly to the fall/winter registration is open to all players wanting to play spring soccer. We do give priority placement to returning Port Moody Soccer Club players registered prior to March 1, but our Club works hard to find teams for ALL players registered.
If you are a new player looking to play on a Metro, Tier 1 or Tier 2 level team, you will need to be assessed by our Technical Staff prior to being confirmed to the team.
The only exception is if your current team has not finished their previous fall/winter season – i.e. your team is in ‘Cup play’. BC Soccer does not allow players to be registered for more than one team at a time, so participation with a Port Moody Soccer Club team will need to wait until your fall/winter ‘season’ is completed.
Am I automatically placed on the same team as from the fall/winter season?
In most cases, the teams will be very similar to the fall/winter season, but if all members of a team do not register, there may need to be adjustments. Consideration is also made for players wishing to play at a different level of soccer and for teams that are not balanced to other teams at the same tier. Evaluations for the fall/winter season will commence February/March and so consideration will also be made for teams that use Spring League as a training opportunity for the following season.
I am on the waitlist – what should I do?
For administrative purposes some age groups/tiers have been automatically set to waitlist so that players are not disappointed if there are not enough players for a team. The Port Moody Soccer Club is committed to finding a team for all players and we look at different options for players on the waitlist. We will be in communication closer to the registration deadline once we understand how registration is looking for your age group and/or tier.
