Coaches

Welcome to our Team Official info pages!

We take pride in the time and dedication our coaches, managers and team moms/dads put into the physical, social and emotional growth of all our players.

The Port Moody Soccer Club has well over 200 team officials volunteering their time, including parents, grandparents, technical staff, spouses and community members. It is through the dedication of these individuals that makes soccer in our community possible – thank you!

“A coach is someone who tells you what you don’t want to hear, and has you see what you don’t want to see, so you can be who you have always known you can be.” - Tom Landry

To support you in your coaching capacity, the PMSC has a committee dedicated to Coach Development from our U4 through adult programs. This group of club members are committed to ensuring our coaches are the best, including meeting the standards set by Soccer Canada, BC Soccer Association, and our leagues.

CRCs – All team officials (coaches & managers) need to have a valid CRC (Criminal Record Check) on file with the PMSC. CRCs need to be renewed every three years. Please check out the CRC information page for more information.

Coaching Certifications – BC Soccer requires all head coaches to be certified in accordance with their Coaching Certification Pathway. Coaches must be certified within 6 months of their appointment as head coach. Port Moody Soccer Club covers the cost to complete the ‘Community Coaching’ stream and offers varying levels of reimbursement to complete the ‘Licensing’ stream. For more information, click here.
