BU15 Gold TAAJ FC Tri Cities Cup Champions!

BU15 TAAj FC are Tri Cities Cup Champions!

The U15 TAAj FC went into the Cup final as the underdogs against the Gold 1 CMF Impact. They went down early and were in a 0-2 hole at halftime. Thanks to the extra fitness training on the Crunch they began to out hustle and wear down their opponents.

The first goal was a PK off the foot of Mehrshad Azizinia after Nolan Campbell was hauled down by the keeper in the box. Motivated by the goal, Port Moody kept the hammer down and the ball rarely left the offensive zone.

The second goal was a great individual effort by Craig Nordin, his persistence and follow up allowed the ball to be at his feet behind everyone, including the goalie.

Port Moody applied pressure for the rest of the half, but it took a game saving stop by keeper Oliver Hopewell to send it into extra time. Extra time solved nothing, but Port Moody was definitely the aggressor in the 2 extra periods. So it came down to penalties.

Down 2-1 early on a miss by PMSC....Oliver again came up with a huge save to even it out.

In the 5th round Port Moody scored, so it came down to the last shooter for CMF....after an icy stare from Oliver, the shooter put it wide and Port Moody wins!!!!

Off to Coastal we go. A great team effort today by the boys, they never gave up and trusted in themselves. Now....just the league championship tomorrow to cap off the weekend. Go Port Moody!!!!

The U15 Boys Gold TAAj FC has had an up and down season this year. Adding many new faces to the existing core boys, and adding a new coach. They have had some great successes this year and have been trending upward all season. They hope to continue their season by capturing the two Cups in front of them. They play for their League Championship against a tough Coastal team on Feb 24th in Newton and then move on to the Tri-Cities Cup Final against their old rivals fro CMFSC Impact on March 10th in Coquitlam. It has been a joy to be part of this group this year and looking forward to more success. Thanks to Coach Majid Fathi for taking on the team this year and for spending all the extra hours on the pitch. Let's wish the boys GOOD LUCK moving forward!!! GO Port Moody GO!!!

Maybe a Coastal Cup berth awaits….?
