The Port Moody Soccer Club’s philosophy is to ensure the enjoyment and participation in the game of soccer for all members at their appropriate level of play.

The Club will be holding try-out sessions at the U11 and U12 ages for a Select team and one or more Development teams for the Boys Program and two balanced Select teams for the Girls Program. For the U13 thru U18 ages we will will be holding try-out sessions for Metro Select, Gold and/or Silver teams for both boys and girls.

It is our responsibility to ensure that players for all ages and competitive levels are selected in a fair and unbiased fashion. The Port Moody Soccer Club's policy is that players will play within their respective age group in order to create equal opportunity for all members.

Although a policy of not allowing any players to “play-up” is easy to manage, periodically, a player or group of players may be identified as being significantly ahead of their peers from a skill development and maturity perspective and would benefit from advanced opportunities available only in an older age group. In these cases it is possible for a player to request an exception to the guiding principle of playing in the correct age group. However, granting the right to “play up” will be focused on the benefits to the player, not the team. In determining what is best for the player the club's Under Age Player U11-U18 policy will be applied. All players wishing to attend a tryout with the Port Moody Soccer club must complete a registration form.

To expedite the sign-in process at the start of tryouts for each team, we encourage players to pre-register by completing the registration form and emailing it in prior to the tryout session. The purpose of this form is to provide the selection committee with relevant information pertaining to each player taking part in the evaluation process. Completion of this form does not imply any requirement for the player to commit to the team or for the selection committee to offer the player a position on the team.

Please note that there is a unique registration form for each team holding tryouts. The registration forms are available as both Microsoft Word 2003 documents and Adobe PDF documents. If you have access to Microsoft Word the form may be completed in Word and then emailed directly. If you do not have access to Microsoft Word the PDF document may be printed, filled in and then scanned and emailed in or brought to the tryout session.

Please note that registration forms for Boys teams should be emailed to vpboys@portmoodysoccer.com and registration forms for Girls teams should be emailed to vpgirls@portmoodysoccer.com.
