       Posted on: Feb 29, 2016

The past few weekends have been a BIG SUCCESS for a few of our Port Moody Soccer Club teams!  Take a look at their success and join us in congratulating them on a job well done!    Scroll down there are quite a few!

      Go Port Moody Go!

Congratulations to the PMSC BU17 Div. 4 Panthers for winning District Championship Series Gold. Way to go boys!

An exciting finish to a successful season saw the Panthers win 4-3 in penalties over a tough Ladner Storm team.

No photo for this one but a HUGE congrats to our BU15 MSL (01) AC Selects for pulling a rabbit out of the hat and winning the MSL League Champions for the second year in a row!  Which gives them an automatic spot in this year's Provincials.  Way to go boys!

PMSC BU13 Div.1 Cubs defeat CMFSC Impact and become District Champions! Well done boys!

"This weekend our U13 Port Moody Cubs played CMF Impact in another very spirited match. Our boys came out flying, working relentlessly and applied pressure from the first whistle of the game until the last.

Our boys took the lead at the 12 minute mark on an incredible play from Matthew Knudsen beating his man down the right wing and then finding Dylan Bendoris in the box who headed the ball into the top corner. CMF tied the score 10 minutes later on a broken play but we quickly countered them, Justin Kim took on two defenders and was taken down in the penalty box and we were awarded a penalty. Justin calmly walked up to the ball and slotted it, we were up 2-1. With 5 minutes to play in the first half, we were once again peppering CMF with shots and creating several chances and at the 30th minute mark, Liam Mellett latched onto a clearance from 40 yards out and smashed it for our 3rd goal...CMF was shell-shocked and we were 40 minutes away from beating our arch rivals.

Our 2nd half started very much like first half ended. Over and over were beat them to every ball, we were creating chances and CMF could not break through our wall of midfield and defense. Every one of our boys contributed and each of them deserve's recognition for demonstrating a complete team effort, attacking and defending as a unit, never letting our foot off the gas and punishing CMF for all their mistakes.

With less than 10 minutes left to play, we were awarded a direct kick from 25 yards out. Justin Kim walked up to the ball and cracked a shot over the wall and into the top left side on their goal. The CMF players stood and watched as we celebrated our 4th goal, They had no answer to our tenacity and ball movement. We beat them in all aspects of the game but most importantly, we beat them in the score!

I want to congratulate every boy on my team! Every one of them came together and did exactly what coach Adam and I have asked of them for this entire season, they executed exceptionally well and proved that good things happen when we all work together and play as a team!

PMSC GU15 Div.1 Xtreme defeat the CMFSC Nemesis 5-2 in overtime and become District Champions! Well done ladies!

"The U15 Port Moody Xtreme successfully defended their title of District Champs for the second year in a row against the CMF Nemesis. It was a great match which saw the Xtreme down 1-0 at half, 2-2 at full time and win 5-2 in over time! A pair of braces scored by Gabby Keen and Maddy Counsell added to Ashley Felming's goal for the 5-2 victory leading to Coastal Cup!"

      Coach John

PMSC GU15 Div.2 Impact walk away with Silver! Great job ladies!

"A Silver finish for the Impact.. we lost with less than 2 minutes in the game.  After a penalty shot we lost 1 to 0 to the North Shore Wildcats. Great game though."

      Coach Jay
